Chandy-love...

Oh, do I love chandeliers!

But finding, not to mention being able to afford one of there beauties
has eluded me!

Yet, hope remains...

as long as there is OVERSTOCK.COM !

I was perusing their chandelier section and I came across all of
these lovelies...

All under $150...

many under $100.

I know! It's not like finding one on the side of the road for free!

Or getting one at a garage sale for $10!

But it's a very viable alternative...
and shipping is ONLY $2.95!!!!
{sometimes you don't even have to pay sales tax!}

Lots of variety too!!
This would be painted white or cream so fast it would
makes it's own head spin! But I like the birdcage-y-ness
of it...and the TOLE look!

This would be painted too...but those little shades are too cute
to resist!

This is just kinda funky!

A LOT of sparkle for a small space!

SO FUN! It looks like a bouquet!

Very PARIS APARTMENT !

I'm going to HAVE to get one...so I need to do a lot more pondering...all the while
keeping one eye open for something sparkly by the side of the road!
{Hey! You never know!!! ;}

Do You Know The Way To Waiwera?

I didn't know the way either until one fateful dinner...

The busboy was pouring water from these luscious bottles
then just putting them aside as if they were nothing!
I was smitten so my brother-in-law asked him what they
did with the used bottles...
"throw them away", he said so nonchalantly...not knowing
that he might as well have said that Rachel Ashwell had
gone Goth!

Well, needless to say...this was sticking out of my purse when we
left the restaurant! ;}

I had never heard WAIWERA WATER or
the RESORT town where it comes from.

But I do know it was founded in 1875...says so right on the bottle! ;}

It is baffling that anyone could consider a bottle this cool color, to be trash...
flummoxed, perplexed I tell you!
But I do plan on having a niiiiiiiice collection of them before too long!

Be sure to stop by Cindy's for more SHOW AND TELL FRIDAY !

Slighty More Than Obsessed...

I CANNOT get these itsy bitsy sand dollars out of my system!

So, when I saw a summery lasso necklace , I had to go with it!

Of course, I had to add a few more tiny shells too!
{I know silver is a more summery, beachy metal...but I
am an Autumn...I must where gold or some great evil
will befall me!}

If you're making a necklace...you may as well make earrings too, right?

And I finally found a "real" use for my cupcake pan {other than baking
cupcakes...}. It's perrrrfect for separating all the elements you would
be using to make any particular piece!!

One last thing...
Well, they are so "charming"...
So, naturally they had to be charms!

{I know this bracelet is too bulky...I have finer chain
ordered...but it was what I had when inspiration
smacked me in the head!}

I think I need an intervention!

A Real Corker...

So, today I found a wine cork in my purse that my sister must
have tossed in there Friday night...I was in the middle of messing
with other things...the tags...the shells...

But I started thinking about the bag full of corks I already have...
awaiting their, as of yet, undetermined fate {like so many other
tid bits I have!}

And I got an idea...and just as quick as you can say "Bob's your uncle"...

Voila-la-la-la-la!
I had made my little place card holders!

{DISCLAIMER! I KNOW I am not the first person to think of this!
It's too easy an idea not to have been done a million times over...
this is merely my version...}

If you are so inclined...you can even match the cork to the person...

and the decoration too! {Kae is so very sand dollary!}

I was even thinking how cute these would be to use as as food markers
for a wine-y cheese-y party...."Gouda"..."Merlot"...fun!

American Chintz...

Funny things happen when you snoop around in your own garage...
you say things like:
"Ohhhhhh, that 's where I put that!"

"Where did that come from?"

"For the love of MIKE! That spider could carry a Buick on it's back!"

Anyway...I literally kicked some dishes and while taking a closer look to
see if I had broken anything, I came across these lovely pieces! I call
them "American Chintz" by Homer Laughlin.

I use the the dinner plate all the time, but I didn't remember that I had the
other pieces!

Isn't it a cute pattern!

All that cheery blue...
It makes me think of happy dishes that KORALEE would use!

I love the details on the edges too!

Search for it if you dare...this is the only information that each piece reveals!
{Coronet is the shape, not the pattern name...but it does narrow it down a bit}
I bought mine from THE MISSING PIECE a million years ago...maybe I'll go hunting for a bit more... :}
