Although I have to admit this revelation just struck me recently.
and I needed another glittery ornament like I needed 2 inches added
to each thigh!
Note to self: less sugar before shopping!
'if I only had...'
'maybe I need some...'
'I bet Michael's has...'
I already have!
And Lord knows I don't need!
A real good one, right on the chop!
And I knocked some sense right into me!
Too darn many things!
There has to be something I can use, something I
already have right under my nose!
no feathers, no glitter, no marching band!
somewhere else in my Christmas decor! ;}
{we call this tight angle a "mercy crop"...sometimes it takes off half your
thigh...or some of the junk in your trunk...this time it was all the "props"
that are littering my steps! ;}

I LOVE this look. I am trying so so hard to get away from all the "traditional" looks....but...that's all I have....FOR NOW. :)
I, too, am going to use vintage things to decorate with.And I have a text on my sidebar that says I'm not going to buy one single new thing this year to decorate with...:))

I love the look of your mantle though I have to admit I'm a simple kind of gal. I just love how the frames make the ornaments show up so much better. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'd call that perfection. Right there. sah-weet.
ReplyDeleteI love your mantel!!! And I can so totally relate. Except that I did go shopping & buy stuff that I did not need. I'm glad to hear that someone has some sort of self control. Heaven knows, it's not me. Anyhoo, I just adore all the white vintage frames (they are an obsession for me as well) and the vintage pink ornaments. Now that is something I don't have but wouldn't mind having. So if you feel the need to get rid of some of your stuff, send it my way. Just don't tell my hubby. He already thinks we are hoarders. Well, maybe a closet hoarders.
ReplyDeleteLooks really great, love all the white with the pink pops! Thanks for sharing!

Heaven knows I love a mercy crop like that. I fell prey to those $1 ornaments also. I stopped at $3...how, I have no clue. All that glitter was so tempting. I decided to make do with what I had this year for the most part. My wallet is very happy about that.

ReplyDeleteYour mantle is ever so elegant and yet so fem. Maybe those dimes would be better spent on those who dimes are ever so much thinner????
ReplyDeleteThis answers the question..."Can you have too many white frames?" Absolutely not! I think this looks just great. Who would think a bunch of white frames could look so festive!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I'm still visiting around for Pink Saturday. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteYour mantel is lovely. Simple and white - 2 of my favorite things. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteI LOVE this mantel!!! This is, like, my favorite mantel ever! Totally going on my inspiration wall.
ReplyDelete~Angela :-)
Yep. I was doing so well and not buying any ornaments this year... until yesterday.
ReplyDeleteYou are a better and stronger woman than I. Those frames are gorgeous. Bet that took lots of hunting to get that collection. Your simplicity is poignant. Just a few vintage ornaments here and there. Forgotten remnants? Whimsy. Easter bunny?
I purchased some vintage glass ornaments on Ebay a few years ago. So much fun to work with and just too darn interesting to be lost upon a tree.
I love all the white frames! I have a few of those, too. :) Now, I can buy more at garage sales next summer with a clean conscience. :)
