A Real Corker...

So, today I found a wine cork in my purse that my sister must
have tossed in there Friday night...I was in the middle of messing
with other things...the tags...the shells...

But I started thinking about the bag full of corks I already have...
awaiting their, as of yet, undetermined fate {like so many other
tid bits I have!}

And I got an idea...and just as quick as you can say "Bob's your uncle"...

Voila-la-la-la-la!
I had made my little place card holders!

{DISCLAIMER! I KNOW I am not the first person to think of this!
It's too easy an idea not to have been done a million times over...
this is merely my version...}

If you are so inclined...you can even match the cork to the person...

and the decoration too! {Kae is so very sand dollary!}

I was even thinking how cute these would be to use as as food markers
for a wine-y cheese-y party...."Gouda"..."Merlot"...fun!

  1. I find relief in the fact that we are not the only one who saves corks! I saw on one blog someon used them at the base of their planter instead of moss. A few years ago I saw a beautiful doormat made from them and one day - I'm going to do something with the ones we have. I love the place card holders!

  16. I too am a corkaholic. I save them all and mark the event and date and toss them into a large glass jar.

    I am afraid to admit I may need a larger jar soon. A sign of too much wine, no, a sign of wonderful evenings with dear friends....yeah that's my version and I'm stickin' to it!

  21. Love your post. I went to a yardsale and bought a 7 pound bag of corks for $5.00. Everyone in my family is getting something made out of corks for Christmas!!! I have made the place card holders by attaching the cork to sand dollars and placing family photo's in them. Thanks for sharing, I love your shell cards!!!
