A SHELL GAME...

You might remember this box from a set of CANNISTERS I got a steal of
a deal on a few months back...

Well, Miss Muse finally came up with an idea...

and with a bit of white paint {what else!}

and a few shells...

and about half an hour...BAM...bye, bye "coffee"...hello, cute!

And while we're on the subject of stealing, uh, I mean, shells...

I was ahuntin' fer shells at Walmart {since those weenies down-sized the
craft dept....yet again!} Anywho, I finally did find them and I always dig the
ones out from the back in the hope that they have been handled less. And
I see this odd-man-out-bag with the yellow tag...the ONLY one with a
yellow tag. Maybe you can't see it's "abnormality"...you're probably not
a shell geek like me! ;} But, I almost squealed!

Not only was it brimming with these pearly beauties!

These two gems were at the bottom of the bag! YUM!!! Usually they have
several tan stripes across them...but these are pristine!

I have no idea why this bag full of treasure was even there, let alone only
$5...but I didn't ask questions...and I felt so naughty!!!! {Then I
skipped and whistled all the way to my car!!!} ;}

We'd be pleased to have you enter our COTTAGE-Y GIVE AWAY !

  2. Great use for your shells. I didn't know anyone could get that excited over them. :-)
    I once saw the frame of a mirror covered with shells and it was nice - probably on Martha Stewart way back when.
    Nice mosaic.

  23. I love shell art, too. Great job, what you made with it. I always admire the shell mirrors on US ebay. But they are too difficult to ship to Germany and too expensive also. I love the pearly effects. Nature is a gorgeous artist.
