Confessions Of A Egg Head...

So I haven't really gotten this "egg" thing out of my system yet!

I still have one or two plastic eggs around, so I just had to try...

I was concerned about the glue just beading up so I used this thick
and wonderful stuff...worked like a charm...just painted it on an
poured on the pretty!!!

Easy as pie!!!

I decided to tie a ribbon around the center to hide the seam, but it
really wasn't all that noticeable.

And I wanted to show off the cute ceramic egg "carton" I bought at Ross!

And the new birdie dish! I am the world's BIGGEST sucker for birdies!!

I will be making A LOT more of these for next year...already have orders to fill! ;}

And I just happened to have some real live eggs {like from a chicken
and everything!} that were a bit beyond edible...so I got an idea...and
let me tell you, some ideas are better than others!

I thought it would be cool to wrap an egg in some hand-stamped fabric...
hmmm...not so much! Looks like a mummy, huh? Yuk! Chalk that one up
to moronitude!

Moving on...

When I cut up my loose novel pages, I can't bear to throw away the edges...
they are a really great color, so I cut them with my fun scissors and I really
like this look...looks like ruffles! I need to put a bit more planning into the
placement and it will look nicer...I'll keep working out the bugs!

Then I just had to go an add a piece of ribbon to a "ruffled" egg...
will I even learn? Apparently not...still looks like Boris Karloff's delight!

And since my hands were all covered with laminate... I thought I'd make
a Pride & Prejudice {her fave Jane Austen} egg for a girl at work...

and an Emma {her fave Jane Austen} egg for another girl...I am the resident
Jane Austen "pusher" at work...all my DVDs are making their way around!

OK...no more eggs 'til next Eastertide!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter...we had a little extra
egg-citement with the reverberations of the 7.2 earthquake in Baja!

  8. Hey M, I like how your eggs turned out. I'll be honest...I decoupaged some eggs with printed words on old paper...turned out disgusting. I was really disappointed how bad they turned out...I practically glued my hands to the eggs too. Wasn't a pretty project and don't think I will try it again!
Hey did you feel the earthquake....our light fixture was swaying (no lie) 3 feet to the left then the right. We saw that and then realized it was an earthquake. We are an hour and 15 minutes from the border so it was strong here...and I thought of you that it might have been really strong where you are!!!
    Have a blessed Easter.

  9. Your eggs are just so lovely, I love them so much, they are so unique and have such a gret vintage look...I can totally understand not being done yet, I did that with some gift boxes for my Christmas tree one year and I found I loved creating those boxes and had not bought any gifts yet....lol...there are so many plastic eggs to recreate, love that so much when your main product for lthe recreation is so plentiful...

  39. I adore your eggs. The glitter ones are my fav though. I felt the earthquake at my house in the Inland Empire. Was more of a rolling motion at my house. Not too scary. But the water in my pool was sloshing all around. I thought it had become a wave pool. My parents live down in San Diego county & they felt the earthquake pretty good. Shook them up quite a bit.
