Ballard Birdies On The "Cheap-Cheap"!

When I saw these birdies in the Ballard catalog
I thought they were sooooo cute, I just had to
have them....


then I saw the price...they aren't that cute!
Hoochamagoocha!



Hmmmm...I just happened to have these
little tidbits so, I used that chipboard
birdie to make a pattern...added wings
and fancier tales...to create some species
of birds that exist nowhere in nature! ;}




A bit of vintage sheet music...



a smattering of GGG...



and I think the "Cheap" version turned
out ok, if I do say so myself!





I think I need work on my template
to give it a little more polished look...




but these fat ones will have a place of honor
as my originals.





Then I just couldn't help myself!
There had to be a nest somewhere!!





With a wee little musical birdie! He
was a bit of a challenge...but I think I
love him best!!!

I Just Gotta Know...

Back in the days when I didn't have to work
on the Friday after Thanksgiving, there was
about a snowball's chance that I be up in the
cold dawn hours to go shopping!

But I just want to know...did you go shopping
to day? Did you get in line yesterday? Did you
get any great deals? Spill! (set your comment
on anonymous if necessary! ;)

With all the things we have to be grateful
for in America...



it seems like Thanksgiving should last
longer than one day!

Fishflakes?

If one looks like a star....




then obviously, 2 look like a snowflake!
Well, at least they do to me!
And since snowflakes are my favorite
wintery thing...I got to work!

But what to call them?




Starfish flakes seems bit "wordy".



"Fishflakes" doesn't really get the idea
across, besides I think the fish food
people have the copy rights to that
word already!




Since I can't think of anything
fabulously clever...
