Inspite of Imperfections...

I {heart} vintage postcards and have
one or two...or 300...the exact number
escapes me...but let's not quibble about
details!
And many times, if you've ordered them
on the internet, let's just say...you won't
know of their imperfections until you're
actually holding them. Then you notice
the wrinkle here, the discoloration there
(man! this is what I say first thing in the
morning!).

But even with their faults, I have never
been able to throw away an old
postcard! They all have a little
something that makes them special!
Like these colors!

This holly! I think it's was hand painted!

This little pink church!
HELLO! It's pink!
But since these were "less than
perfect" I allowed myself to use
them for crafting purposes...I had
seen this cute idea at a shop(I'm
sure you have all seen similar!) and
I wanted to give it a whirl!

So...

some glue...

some GGG...

some ribbon (the ribbon I was looking
for when I found my eggs!)

a bow here...

a knot there...

VOILA!

Reborn...over 100 years later!

And prettily perfect in every way!
(if I may be so bold as to take liberties
with a Mary Poppins' quote!)

And I am positively pleased!

  6. That's a good idea for damaged cards. I like the way the glitter looks, but I would never use it myself.

  19. So, so pretty!!! Thanks for sharing the photos with us. I just listed several vintage Christmas cards in my Etsy shop. I don't see any flaws when I look at them because their age gives them that much more character.
