You Trashy Little Table You!

I already showed you, in a previous POST ,
how I turned a plastic urn from the garden
department into my bathroom trash can...

Well, inspiration struck and I morphed my
trash can into something fit to hold more
than just used tissue (ewwwww!)

I filled it with plastic bags to get the height
I needed...

...then added a layer of pristine white tissue
paper (since the Walmart logo does not match
my decor!)

...then the shells!

Thankfully, my quality control inspectors let
me know that I had forgotten the most
important detail...

...the starfish!

Now the glass round...see where I'm
going with this?

Yes, indeedy. A trashy little side table!

I love how you can look right through and
see those beautiful shells!

This is my "functional" table motif...
but you can also go purely decorative and
just use it to display a few more of your
tchotchkes...

I thought I'd stay with the beachy theme...

And they do make these urns much larger, so
cold easily make a bistro table sized creation...

...with your favorite kind of "pretties" under the glass!

  4. Your new table is so cute! I love using urns for a table base. My dining room table is a gigantic urn for a base with a round plate of glass for a table top.

  5. Your little trashy table gets my "thumb's up", big time!!! This is a fantastic idea!! You repurposed a repurposed!!

Now, let me ask. Aren't these plastic pots really lightweight?? Is there any wobbling or feeling that it may fall over with the glass on it??

I really love the ideas and I bet pots are on sale right about now!!!

  31. Oh, I do LOVE it! You can make the prettiest little vignettes, girl! It would make a great coffee table with a rectangular piece of glass and two urns also, I would think. But oh honey, I do love it just as you have it. SWEET!
