Shiny, Happy Me!!!

I wasn't going to participate in Met Monday this
week since I didn't really have anything to share.
But there I was, just a few minutes ago, breaking
up denture tablets to clean a few vintage bottles.
When I spied the box of old baby spoon I bought
a few weeks ago and I figured I might as well try
to clean them up...since my hands were already
yucky!

In pretty bad shape...ewwwww. But they were sold
"as is" for crafting and that's what I had intended
to use them for. But I noticed that 6 of the spoons
were the same! Eeeeeeek! Not "baby" spoons, but
tea spoons!!!

Rough shape indeed! It appeared that the
plating was coming off in places and there
was some pitting...but what the heck! Let's
give it "the old college try"! (I don't really
know what that means, I have just heard
it in old movies! ;)

So, out came the Pepsodent!!! My favorite
polishing aid!! And VOILA!!!!!!

Wooooohoooooo!

Would you look at that!

Hello, my pretty!

Needless to say, this set of sterling, yep,
sterling(the stamp could only read after
they were clean!) will not be used for
"crafting"!!! And I am happy as a clam!
I think I paid $7 for the whole box! Weehee!!

  12. Love it! I love anything silver and I have a special weakness for spoons. They polished up beautifully.

I couldn't help but notice the little Gerber baby spoon. I have that with one of my daughters' name engraved on it.

    GREAT find! :)
