A Teary Tale Of Teal...

Well, once upon a time I had an large set of
dishes like this...
I bought them on Ebay...a "beautiful blue"...
since they were Grindley, I just assumed
that they were the usual cobalt blue and
obviously the picture didn't tell the whole
tale...

Since they weren't the "right" blue, and this
tealy blue instead, I gave them to my friend's
sister...what a dope, huh?
I should be flogged with a wet noodle!

This piece got left out somehow and I
had using it as a food dish for my cats...

I guess you guys are getting to me
though...
I have decided to give it a more
dignified job displaying some of my
buttons.
Flogged, flogged, I tell you!

Be sure to visit out hostess, SALLY
for more tales that are sure to make
YOU BLUE TOO!

  3. I think we've all given away things in the past that we regret; either that or we turned things down.

When my mom passed on, she offered me any of her jewelery that I wanted and I turned down all her wonderful costume jewels from the the 40s-60s. :< I thought it was so "gaudy" and knew I'd never wear it... I still wouldn't wear it but well, you know...

  5. You know, that happens to all of us. I'll bet your friend has a blogsite where she has posted "Look at what a dear friends gave me - I can't believe she would be so nice!" What goes around comes around...someone will give you something special! Linda

  12. You'd be shocked at what I have given away, or sold, and now wish with all my heart that I hadn't done what I did...sigh. It happens. Maybe one day you and I will be on the other end and someone will give us something that they wish they hadn't.

  16. Love i! I'm cyber-flogging you right now!!! Shame! JK! Have a great week.

p.s. I have given away far too many treasures over the years, so we can be flogged together ;)

  17. That is a lovely dish. I think we've all given things away that we could all cringe over now. I think it's that double edge sword of "de-junking"...sometimes down-sizing involves more than just getting rid of what we consider "Junk" at the time.

  30. Beautiful blue!

I'm using one of my most adorable Limoges nut dish for my dog's water bowl. Hmmm, I should get a shot of that! Again, thanks for the inspiration!

Sometimes, I wish I could kick myself for some of the things I passed up or gave away. Hold on, let me kick myself before I say
    Toodles.

    Toodles.
